Brief History of the Soviet Union
The Soviet Union existed from 1922 until 1991. People did not approve of the Czarist government in Russia. The czar were basically the kings and the wealthy population of Russia. Czars made people see the great gap between the rich and the poor in Russia. So, the Bolsheviks took control of Russia. They created the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU). The parties main goal was to make the transition from Czarism to Communism, and make everyone equal. However, the party officials often lived lush, extravagant lifestyle, while the common people had to live in apartments with 2 or 3 other families. Russia was not anywhere near equal.
