The Cold War
The Cold War was more of a psychological war that a full-on bloody, violent war. This war officially started in 1945, when the Soviet Union began to expand under Stalin, and didn't end until the Soviet Union fell in 1991. The Cold War was a power struggle between the capitalist West (America), and the communist East (Soviet Union). This time was a time of tension on both side. They often tried to out-do each other. This was shown through the nuclear weapons projects of the Soviet Union that target the West, and what the West stood for. The Cold War symbolized how the two different ways of life struggled to coexist in the rapidly changing world.
